have been laying low these last 2 weeks or so ever since I shirted up last....my left shoulder was dislocated after my shirt session and I didn't get it taken care of until the following sunday (kevin popped it back into place) so it has been sore ever since. I knew my shoulder didn't feel right but I was able to use it for the most part. It just got to the point where I went into the gym last sunday and asked kevin to look at it because it was still hurting quite a bit and as he was showing me how he examines a potentially dislocated shoulder mine snapped and was sucked back into the socket.....immediate relief but now some serious residual soreness that continues today.
I did do some push ups and light tricep extensions....will make a decision about shirting up next week since the meet is on the 20th and I have only put it on 1 time so far.
shirted up on the 13th and changed the way I warm up and changed the shirted reps....I warmed up to only 315lbs. x 1 and all of my warm up reps were very slow and controlled on the eccentric. I then put an older broken in shirt on and went straight to 500lbs. x 1 to a 2 board then 545lbs. to a 1 board, done.
I will do the meet and just see what happens. I took 4+ weeks off due to the shoulder and some other misc. issues so in the last 6 weeks I will have had 2 partial sessions....I am not very stressed about my results. I am pretty excited to lift in front on my home town for the first time since 2004, wish I was more prepared but it's only 1 meet and it will be a learning experience for sure.
Bruce, just read this. Amazing that you were able to come back from a dislocated shoulder and a few weeks later hit a PR! Congrats on a successful meet! Wish I could have been there.

1st attempt- 551lbs. -- good
2nd attempt- 567.5lbs. - good
3rd attempt- 578.7lbs. - good
my opener was a pr and it just got better from there....I cannot explain yet how this all happened but I am going to figure it out.
bottom line is it was a great day!
dynamic bench- 135lbs. bar weight + doubled mini bands x 3 x 9 sets
85lb. db bench press x 7, shoulder felt weird so i stopped
rope tri pushdowns- 140lbs. x 12 x 5 sets
chest supp rows- 170lbs. x 10 x 5 sets
